This month I thought it would be fun to take you all with me to one of my favourite places... the duck pond!
The duck pond, a pond renowned for the sheer number of ducks, is a great place to feed ducks and unwind after a stressful day.
Boy, I sure love birdwatching!
That's right! Shamus.ca is proud to announce our first ever 50/50.
Current Pot: $9
I have contributed $5 to the pot.
It costs $2 to purchase (1) ticket.
All money goes directly into the pot.
Next month I will reveal the lucky winner!
Send me $2!
You can e-transfer it, paypal it, or even mail it!

Lichens, as I'm sure we're all aware, are a combination of both fungus and cyanobacteria.
Lichens are quite cool and I think it's time we start to appreciate their organic beauty.
Fun Fact: While lichens can sometimes look like chips, they definitely don't taste like them!
The lichen of the week is the Ragbag lichen.
This little guy is a lichen that finds a home on trees all over the world!
Who knows, maybe you could go into your backyard and find this lichen yourself.

Grog is one of the oldest cocktails in existence! And yet it's one of the most forgotten.... Until now!
Grog is a warm-ish drink that is great to enjoy during the cold winter season.
I have taken the traditional grog recipe and put a modern twist on it to repopularize grog among the youth.
1. Pour some rum into a cup
2. Run the tap until it's room temperature
3. Fill the rest of the cup
4. Add a slice of lime
5. Voila! Enjoy your grog
This is Cactus.
Cactus is a rescue cactus.
There I was, buying some doritos at a local gas station when I saw it. Cactus was turning brown and losing needles, barely holding onto it's life.
I was shocked to see a cactus wilting away. It's so hard to dehydrate a cactus, it must've been neglected for months.
That's when I (the protagonist) stepped in. In that moment I adopted the cactus and saved it from the perils of the gas station.
And now we share the strongest cactus-person bond I've ever witnessed.
There wasn't one.
I'm pretty sure December is a civic holiday so I took the time off instead.
It's probably safe to say that ducks don't need to carry a phone, wallet, or keys with them.
So probably a glock.
I'll at least try to be transparent about it next month.
And honestly, how is it any less reliable than a real raffle/lottery?
